Character Interview: Star Collapsed Cast
Star Collapsed is coming May 25 (next week!) and I was able to snag our four main characters for an interview before they run off to save the world (or something small like that).
Characters:
Kiya, Ryder, Isobel, Declan
What are your superpowers?
Kiya: **flips the middle finger**
Ryder: Astronomical manipulations. Basically, I can make lights in the sky like the Aurora Borealis and I can create a flaming rock in my hand.
Isobel: Showoff. I create portals to travel through.
Declan: Invisibility. I only use it to sneak up on Kiya.
Kiya: You try to sneak up on me. You’ve never surprised me.
What does your family look like?
Kiya: My parents, Finnley and Nate, are the famous Blue Star. Telepathy and telekinesis for my mom (supernova), and umbrakinesis, shadow manipulation, for my dad (black hole). My adopted sister, Madeline, had the ability to see past, present, and future, but she lost her powers when I was born.
Ryder: Just my mom, Brenna. No powers.
Isobel: That thing **gestures to Declan** is my twin, but I’m the better looking one. I take after my dad, Glitch, who can teleport.
Declan: That creature **gestures to Isobel** is only jealous because I’m a few minutes older and I’m the smart one. I take after my mom, Luci, who can bend light.
What’s one word to describe your friends?
Kiya: Innocent (Ryder), Fierce (Isobel), Solid (Declan)
Ryder: Terrifying (Kiya), Also terrifying (Isobel), Loyal (Declan)
Isobel: Badass (Kiya), Oblivious (Ryder), Heart (Declan)
Declan: Feral, the good and bad kind (Kiya), Determined (Ryder), Protective (Isobel)
Who’s the early bird?
Everyone: Kiya.
Declan: She gets up at 4am just for fun.
What do you do if you can’t sleep?
Kiya: Run. Maybe just stare at the stars for a while.
Ryder: Throw shit.
Isobel: Read or study.
Declan: Wait, you guys have trouble sleeping?
Favorite outfit?
Ryder: Jeans and a t-shirt
Kiya: Yeah, a t-shirt two sizes too small. Total jock move.
Ryder: Says the girl who wears skin tight outfits to show off her own muscles. Do you own any other clothes besides black?
Kiya: You wish you could pull off a leather jacket like I can.
**glaring contest**
Isobel: **interrupts** I only wear skirts in the hopes to get Kiya’s attention.
Declan: We’re lucky if my clothes even match.
What’s the worst thing you’ve wished on someone?
Kiya: **opens mouth**
Declan: We don’t have enough time for your 800-page list.
Ryder: I kind of wanted to shove a basketball down Kiya’s throat.
Isobel: Amateur.
Kiya: The feeling was mutual, Ryder.
Isobel: I threatened to kill Ryder with my bare hands.
Kiya: Also same.
Declan: You threaten to murder basically everyone you meet. This does not surprise me.
Who do you look up to?
Kiya: My parents.
Ryder: My mom.
Isobel: Kiya.
Declan: Well, I was going to say Isobel, but seeing as my twin just betrayed me, I’ll say House.
Are you afraid to be alone?
Kiya: I prefer it.
Ryder: I’m capable of keeping myself entertained, but I’d rather be with friends.
Isobel: I have a twin. There’s no such thing as being alone.
Declan: Yes. Please don’t leave me.
Worst injury?
Kiya: I broke my fucking back and was paralyzed. I also had a collapsed lung, nearly bled out... **begins counting past injuries**
Ryder: Uh, I broke my leg and I’ve had a few concussions.
Isobel: I broke my hand and fingers.
Declan: I stubbed my toe.
What would you say your theme song is?

Isobel: War Paint by FLETCHER
Declan: Spark by Fitz and The Tantrums
What’s something we can look forward to in Star Collapsed?
Ryder: Kiya and I nearly murder each other.
Kiya: And I’m a total badass.
