June Monthly Update

I can’t believe we’re nearly halfway through 2021. It kind of blows my mind at how quickly everything has gone this year. I’ve wrapped up a series, started a new one, and even begun working on a new Kindle Vella epic fantasy project that will be coming out soon!

May Recap:

I ended up reading 15 books last month (yes, including two of my own). You can find a list of those books on Goodreads. I’m working on a page here on my website to collect all my reviews. My favorite was definitely House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City) by Sarah J Maas.

I always read my books when they get released - partly to make sure the formatting is all good to go but also because I love getting excited with all of you! We had the final release for the Warrior Series (The Balance of the Coilleach) and the launch of the brand new Star Series (Star Collapsed). I’ve also been knee deep in writing a new project tentatively called The Curse of Broken Shadows. I see that changing in the future, but for now, you can enjoy the first two chapters. The rest will come out as an episodic serial on Kindle Vella (whenever Amazon decides to make that live).

Writing:

As I mentioned above, I’ve been working on a new epic fantasy called The Curse of Broken Shadows. It’s got some romance (yes, some steamy, adult romance), a bit of enemies to lovers, mythical creatures and gods, and it’s got some dark elements. It’s potentially the best banter I’ve ever written and I’ve officially fallen in love with my main characters so keep an eye out for more there.

I’m also still working on book 2 in the Star Series called Star Supernova. Here’s a bit of a teaser for you - the first chapter is going to be from Declan’s perspective! This story will include four perspectives because we’ve got our band of superpowers trying to work together to figure out how to recover from Star Collapsed’s aftermath.

Pride Month:

Happy pride month, my loves! What a perfect time for my new book Star Collapsed to come out because it features two of my strongest characters written to date: Kiya (bisexual) and Isobel (lesbian). I even worked on some artwork for them, and yes, I know I’m not the best artist, but I do love them so much and I was so excited to have an art project for them.

Another fun fact - my epic fantasy project also features two strong bisexual leads: Brela and Farrah! I can’t wait for you guys to meet them.
