September Monthly Update
Holy cow, how is it already September? I mean, I will not complain about pumpkin spice EVERYTHING (yes, I’m a basic bitch and I will not apologize for loving pumpkin). But seriously, 2021 has been such a ride.
So, remember how I wanted to write 1 million words this year? Yeah, I don’t see that happening. I got so incredibly behind with vacation in February, some life happenings in the middle months, and then another vacation coming up next week. Too much. The other thing I noticed is that my project style changed. I went from churning out short stories to longer works that required a lot less ‘editing’ (they still were edited, but I was taking my time a little more, plotting, and making chapters nice while writing them rather than just focusing on word count). No matter what my word count is at the end of the year, I’m incredibly proud of the work I’ve done to get my books and writing out into the world!

August Recap:
Not only did I finish writing The Curse of Broken Shadows, I’ve got it packaged into a pretty BOOK that’s available for preorder. That’s right. This sucker is going to be a massive 750-page novel! Talk about an epic fantasy. If you’re curious about a comparison, Sarah J Maas’s House of Earth and Blood is 800 pages, S.M. Gaither’s The Song of the Marked is 500 pages, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is 766 pages.
Check out this gorgeous cover by Angelee van Allman!
New Music:
Nightshade (album) - Andrew Belle
I Don’t Like Anybody But Me - Mating Ritual
Revolver - bülow
Carry on Wayward Son - Neoni
New Reads:
I’m still struggling to get through Aurora’s Angel by Emily Noon. It’s… very hard to read the writing style but I’m desperately trying. I’m not sure it’s going to get more than two stars at this point…

Writing:
With TCOBS finished, I’ve moved back to my Blue Star Series with the second book in the spin off (fifth total) titled Star Supernova. It’s good to be back in the heads of Kiya, Ryder, and the twins!
I’m also planning a prequel and sequel to TCOBS (which won’t make their appearances this year, sorry). With some personal stuff happening late August, I’ve gotten a bit of a slower start on some of my work. Not to worry, good things are in store! You can read ahead by joining me on Patreon!
Staying updated:
Every Friday, you can find a new blog post here on my website. You can also catch up on all my old posts here.
Discord is my new hangout space! I would love to get some more interaction there - which is why I’m opening it up to everyone. We can chat all things books, cats, and random memes.
I’m really active on Instagram! I post my book reviews and also some behind the scenes details for my books during the week.
As always, my newsletter is the best place to get all of these updates and never miss a link or book release. I send out an email on Fridays with the best details and some fun stories!
